Whole Health in The Circle of Life

Educators are a social species.  They tell stories and the relationships they cultivate stimulate the process of learning.  Helping others to grow through stimulating educational experiences has been illuminated in my career path for almost 30 years.

Educators choosing to work with Wellness Without Walls and the Whole Health process will see how this work with parents trickle down to your students directly and indirectly.  We primarily focus on women, mothers, however men, fathers and children are included in this ‘whole health’ perspective.

Children need to come to school, emotionally and physically healthy. When they are well rested, well nourished and nurtured, they can more easily learn, developing their own life stories of compassion, resilience and unique perspectives.

Promoting a wholistic approach to health is key to this common effort of co-creating healthy and happy kids.

Researchers can measure the health of a child by looking at the child’s (attachment) to his/her Mom or Dad.  The attachment can be healthy or unhealthy.  Whether the attachment is a healthy is one of the strongest predictors of a child’s well being.

The strongest predictor of a child’s attachment is the parents emotional health.  Specifically, does the parent have a ‘coherent narrative, a coherent integrated sense of themselves that can be measured in a simple interview process with a researcher.

Another reason to ‘know ourselves’ and integrate the challenges and dreams of our lives into a coherent narrative.

–Dan Siege, Parenting From the Inside Out

Wellness Without Walls combines a learning organization, experiential education, personal mastery and whole health.  I know you understand the benefit a program of this nature could have on you the educator, your children and their parents.

This is a unique perspective in co-creating a wellness culture for teachers, students and parents in schools and is equally essential to all principles, administrators, and their staff.
